Northern California has amazing and unique hotels and restaurants, but there is nothing else like this incredible old riverboat that serves as both. The Delta King in Old Town Sacramento is a beautiful old vessel with modern hotel lodgings, fine dining, entertainment, and more.
The Delta King is a unique blend of old and new. Guests get to take advantage of modern amenities while delighting in the old fashioned charm. It is located in Sacramento’s vibrant Old Town region.
The historic paddleboat is quite a sight. It's easily recognized on the water of the Sacramento River by the stark white color that contrasts nicely with the cherry red of the paddle wheel.
The Delta King is an authentic 285-foot riverboat that was originally built in Glasgow, Scotland and Stockton, California. The King and her identical twin, the Delta Queen, were christened on May 20, 1927, and began their daily river voyages in June of that year.
The Delta King is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was derelict and on its way to the junkyard when the Coyne family bought it in the 1980s.
With its location near down town Sacramento, this experience is really the best way to experience the beauty of the California state capital up close and personal. There's a ton of history in this area, and it's definitely worth checking out.
